How to properly take measurements for sewing clothes
Basic rules:
Body position: Stand straight, do not slouch, feet shoulder-width apart.
Measuring tape: Hold it parallel to the floor and without tension.
Measurement points: Pay attention to the highest and widest points.
Recording: Record all the data obtained on paper.
What you will need:
- Measuring tape
- Pencil or pen

Basic measurements and how to take them:
- Neck circumference: Measured at the base of the neck, above the jugular notch.
- Chest circumference: Measured at the highest points of the chest.
- Underbust: Measured horizontally around the torso, under the breasts.
- Waist circumference: Measured at the narrowest part of the waist.
- Hip/Thigh Circumference: Measured around the widest part of the hip/thigh.
- Back to waist length: Measured from the base of the neck to the waistline.
- Sleeve length: Measured from the shoulder seam to the wrist on a slightly bent arm.
- Wrist circumference: Measured at the narrowest part of the wrist.
- Back width: Measured between the armpits.
- Product length: Measured from the waist to the desired length of the product.
